A Close Look at the Volvo Concept Estate

First, we speculated. Then, we were teased. And now, at the Geneva Motor Show, we can finally get our first look at the Volvo Concept Estate and all it has to offer.

Like the Concept Coupe and Concept XC Coupe before it, the Estate boasts the elements that will soon become standard across the entire lineup. This includes those elegant T-shaped LED headlamps and forthright front end.

We've already spoken a lot about the body style in previous posts. What's interesting about this concept (and the first we saw), is how much homage it pays to the P1800ES of the 1970s. Considered a legendary vehicle by some, it's clear this look is being brought back, albeit on a more modern level.

Also of note is the new integrated Apple CarPlay infotainment system. Unlike other infotainment suites, this one allows you to use the applications of your smart phone without taking your attention away from the road.

Like the other prototypes before it, the Estate was designed by Volvo design chief Thomas Ingenlath. In addition to these concepts, Mr. Ingenlath will also head the design of the new XC90 crossover, which should come out later this year.

Stay tuned to our blog as we bring you all the latest news about the upcoming and new Volvo lineup.
